Description:

The Council is a non-political, non-stock, non-profit, benevolent, and community service organisation which is incorporated under ' the Associations Incorporation Act 1981. (Victoria)

Purpose:

The purposes for which the Council is established are:

  1. To support and facilitate the unity of the Filipino-Australian community and migrant Filipinos in the State of Victoria.
  2. To assist and advise Filipino-Australian Member Associations, groups or clubs and individual members in their community-based or humanitarian activities, functions and projects.
  3. To consult and liaise with government bodies, non-government organisations, community-bases agencies, and other appropriate service-providers regarding the needs, concerns, priorities and interests of the Filipino-Australian community in general.
  4. To provide, promote, and undertake community or welfare services and benevolent activities for migrant Filipinos and other ethnic groups or communities as may be required by the Government through its grant-in-aid scheme.
  5. To initiate and maintain activities and programs that will promote unity, co-operation, and good working relationships between legitimate organisations, individuals and other ethnic communities.
  6. To facilitate the recognition of qualifications of the professionals and educational as well as the development of Filipino migrants and their families in order to enhance their self-image and standing in the community.
  7. To provide, develop and maintain networking resources and information exchange for all Filipino migrants and their families on employment and educational opportunities, health and welfare services, social activities and aspirations in Australia.
  8. To monitor policy changes in the Philippine and Australia to ensure that the Filipino Community is well-informed on issues affecting them, particularly children, youth, women, and the elderly.
  9. To provide moral support to dedicated efforts of governments, organisations, and individuals working to uplift the standards of life of the Filipino people.
  10. To promote and preserve the Filipino cultural heritage.
  11. To provide professional, social, cultural, sporting and welfare services to Filipino-Australian community through the Councils grant-in-aid programs and Philippine Australian Multi-Purpose Centre facilities.
  12. To represent the Council members and other Filipino-Australian organisations in the Filipino Communities Council of Australia

The FCCVI held its Annual Election on the 15 October 2005. The newly elected officers are:
